News Room
Located in Oxford, NC, the Griffith's operate a small diversified farm. They grow heirloom and non-gmo varieties of produce and raise animals on pasture. Produce is grown using natural methods without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. They are considering organic certification. Along with the produce, the Griffith's are dedicated to preserving rare breeds of livestock. Most of our animals can be found on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy's conservation priority list. One of the best ways to preserve an endangered livestock breed is to produce them for food. Several of the breeds are also on the Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste list. Current breeds include Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, Dexter cattle, Buckeye, Delaware, Americauna and Cornish-Cross chickens, Royal Palm and Narragansett turkeys, Toulouse geese and meat goats. All of our animals are pastured. Beef is 100% grass fed as nature intended. We also sell soy-free eggs and free-range chicken raised on non soy feeds. The artistic work of Jennifer (Old Island Designs) can also be seen in her pottery. Most of her work is done on commission, but some is for sale by appointment. Contact them at 919-690-0004 or info@longafterfarms.com for more information.
